Odakyu's Romancecar, the best train

I just read in the Mainichi newspaper that Odakyu Electric Railway’s express train Romancecar ( ロマンスカー ) type 60000 MSE has won the Japan Railfan Club’s Blue Ribbon Award for this year’s best train.

Odakyu 60000 Series MSE
This is the first reserved-seat limited-express train in Japan linked directly to a subway line (Chiyoda and Yūrakuchō):
Indeed, even if I haven’t traveled yet with the 60000 MSE, in my opinion, the best traveling experience in Japan is with the Romancecar.
Most of the tourists are more interested in the faster and more famous Shinkansen. I was too, until I traveled a couple of times between Shinjuku and Hakone Yumoto.
Since then, my favorite is the 50000 series VSE:
Excellent first impression:
Comfy seats:
Seat level view:
If you’re lucky enough to get a front seat: ![]()
A view towards the… toilet… ![]()
…closer:
The seats changing direction…
…looks almost confusing: ![]()
I think I’ve seen this in Star Trek… ![]()
