Meiji Jingu is also one of my favorite places in Japan! I'll be writing about a different aspect of the area for my entry into this months matsuri though...

Terrific post! I love those photos and the writing is wonderfully evocative. And I really like that image of the rain coming down!

Hello, Muza-chan. Meiji Jingu brings back memories of happier days. (Clue: I was young then.)

Romanian also happens to be one of my favorite languages. I was stranded at an airport in Cold War Moscow--engine trouble--where I passed the time reading Romanian pamphlets, the only ones I could understand because of the similarity with Portuguese.

I agree. The first photo with the rain was my favorite. That and the fact that the harder it rained the more it calmed you. Great post.

I liked the Hachiko statue at Shibuya square so i made one you can see at website above.
As for the shrine I am told that this is the resting place of the what we call WAR CRIMINAL who marched many American and European POWs to their Death in the "Bataan Death March. I hope I am wrong about this being his resting place.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bataan_Death_March ..so much for swift boat races.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masaharu_Homma
And on a lighter word Hachiko is a soon to be released movie starring Richard Gere, Check this for details

Thanks for your great photos. I hate it when it rains too but sometimes I enjoy listening to the sound of the falling rain. I could only hope you well and good. Hey, some of your friends might be interested on these Hawaii Statehood Apparel.

You have captured the true essence of a visit to a great shrine - or, let me be more precise, the true essence of a visit by one with an open mind and a receptive heart .... Well captured in both images and writing, Muza-chan!

Hello Mizu-chan, thank you for finding my blog. I am planning my first visit to Kyoto Japan in a few weeks. It is a life long dream because I am half Japanese and am extremely interested to come to Japan. I also think this trip will have a huge impact on my art. I am very excited. I will visit here often because your photographs and words are amazing-- very beautiful.

This is a beautiful blog. I totally understood about the spiritualitay of a place and how sometimes we do not seek that spirituality, it seeks us! I have had a few of those moments, and sometimes in the strangest of places!
Thank you for checking out my blog and becoming a follower. I hope you continue to check it out and enjoy. :)
