Since ancient times, in Asia, the lotus was a symbol of purity.

Several weeks ago, on the Shinobazu Pond in Ueno, the lotus flowers started to blossom. I couldn’t miss such an event, so I went there several times, to admire and photograph the flowers.
Of course, there were a lot of photographers:

On the Buddhist iconography, Buddha is represented sitting on a pink lotus flower. The Hindu Goddess Saraswati, known in Japan as Benzaiten, is also often represented sitting on a white colored lotus. On the shores of the Shinobazu Pond, there is a temple dedicated to Benzaited, that can be seen in the distance:

The flowers and the leaves are surprisingly big, it's a pleasure to stroll around.
I hope to visit before it ends...
I think there is somewhere a "meta photo" with me too, as there were a lot of photographers...
